The new jacket
This past weekend the zipper on Zachary's jacket broke, so being a good mom I brought it into the tailor only to find out that it was going to cost $35 to fix it. So I rationalized that it was a better deal just to go and buy a new one. The following morning I arrive at the mall with Zachary's specifications in mind. After searching for over an hour, I find a jacket at Children's Place that I think he will like. Unfortunately, they don't have it in his size. The not so helpful sales associate informed me that she would give me the number to another store if I would like to call and check on sizes. Sounds like a pain but I take the number anyway. As I'm driving to the Woodbury location I am repeatedly calling the store to no avail. Until a man answers the phone in a very deep annoyed voice--oh shit--I was blowing up some strangers phone. I immediately hung up the phone, googled the store, and called the right number. They have the jacket, I tell them I'll be there in fifteen minutes. Oh but wait the man that I called is now repeatedly calling me back. I take a deep breath and answer the phone. I start I am so sorry for blowing up your phone, a sales woman gave me your number under the pretense that it was another store, I didn't mean to disturb you and again I am sorry for the disruption, I hope you have a nice day. To which he responds don't even trip, it's all good, it's all good--I again say goodbye and hang up the phone. Now if you can stereotype in your mind what a thuggish drug dealer would sound like on the phone, I was just talking to him. I make it to the Woodbury location and explain what just happened and the actually helpful sales woman apologized explaining that they have a policy not to call store to store but she would give me another 15% off my purchase. I'm pretty happy about this and leave with Zachary's new jacket. As I'm getting into my car, I get a text message. Verbatim: Don't trip u aint call my number for no reason u sound cute send me a pic. Really? An apology was enough, now your going to be a creepy stalker? I think I'll send him a picture of Dusty's junk.
